IPL's Impact: Arturo Aceves González

My name is Arturo Aceves, and I am the Language Accessibility Manager for World Speaks. I'm honored to share how the Institute for Public Leadership has transformed my life.

Six years ago, I arrived in the United States with limited English skills, seeking a better future. Building leadership skills requires time, effort, and resilience. For me, IPL has been pivotal, providing the knowledge and connections to navigate Nebraska’s legislative system—a key to driving systematic change. Through their Cohort, I’ve met senators, city council members, influential reporters, community leaders, and nonprofit directors dedicated to improving Omaha.

IPL’s training has empowered and amplified my voice, enabling effective advocacy for our communities. A recent testament to this is the Proclamation for Language Accessibility Week, where I stood before our district representatives to highlight the importance of language access—a milestone made possible by IPL’s guidance.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to Renee Fry from the Lozier Foundation, Katie and Emily from the Weitz Foundation, and Sarah Keeney from IPL. Your support has been instrumental in my journey and countless others.

Your continued support for IPL is an investment in our shared future, fostering a diverse, inclusive community where every voice is heard and valued. By funding IPL, you enable more individuals to embark on this transformative journey, creating ripples of positive change.

Thank you for believing in IPL and for your generous support.
